Translation Symposium: Translating Well

Join us for the annual ‘LBF Minus One’ translation symposium on the theme of Translating Well.

What are the ingredients that make translators the best we can be? A holistic look at translation life, from improving your craft, to your finances and mental wellbeing. Sessions will include:

  • What makes a good translation
  • Financial wellness
  • Preventing harassment in translation and publishing
  • Publisher Q&A
  • Peer mentoring and informal continual professional development
  • Translating trauma.

We end the day with some gentle practical exercises to encourage wellbeing amongst the deskbound.

Ticket prices (include lunch and refreshments).

    • Emerging Translators Network Members: £55
    • Guests / Non-Members: £80

The event takes place in the Lower Common Room, Goodenough College. Entry via London House on the south side of Mecklenburgh Square (see map below).
